This one's for you...

I love the internet. There is so much information and so much to learn.
Especially in the world of craft, there are so many wonderful ideas from others, just waiting to be learned. There are so many nice people out there who are so nice and even create tutorials for others to follow.

Recently I came across this wonderful tutorial while browsing craft sites. I just loved what I saw there and decided to try and create my own tree of life. And here's the result:

I know it isn't all that great compared to the ones you find on the net, but I was pretty happy with the result. I should have probably used some larger beads as well....well, next time I will.

Today was my little sister's birthday. Making a tree of life on that day seemed pretty symbolic, so this one is for you, little sis. No, I am not gifting you the tree, but I dedicate the effort to you, pretty cool, huh? :)

So with this I sign off...till the spirit moves me again....

New Card

It's been a while since I posted a card. The problem is that most of the cards created during Christmas season were to be given out anonymously. So then how do I put these up on the blog?

Anyway, this one is for a friend of mine who recently had her first child.

Material used:

Stamp: "Babies smile" from A day for Daisies.
Doilies: Bought from Office Depot
Label: Tea at Elsie's collection from Kaiserkraft
The stones are bindis that my mother bought me.
The flowers were made with 2 kinds of craft punches and a brad.

Hope she likes it :)

For my dear friend

It's not like I am not making cards....i do make them, but I don't share them immediately because I don't want the person for whom I am making the card to see them before it reaches them....does that make sense?

Here's a card I sent my dearest friend for her birthday. We studied together from Class 5 to 10 and have been best friends ever since we met....

I was so thrilled to see her mail after she got my post and to see how happy it made her :)

The stamp used is from Prairie Fairy. The sentiment is from Deja views - Fresh Verse.

Long pending introduction

I have been making cards for a long time now. It started with cutting up my parents' wedding photos to slightly better ones now :)

I've always loved creating something....and now I have found something to work with....paper. And what do I make? Cards! I won't say that they are amazing (for amazing cards, google handmade cards)....people are so creative and that inspires me to do better....

So, here I am, sharing my work with whoever would like to see it :)

The card here, I made for my niece's first birthday. The digi used is from precious moments. The flowers were made by punching out flowers from different papers. The second layer was wet with water and then curled inwards . Finally I stuck some beads in the middle.
